Plateelbakkerij De Distel cachepot W. van Norden

Fraaie aardewerk cachepot vervaardigd bij de Plateelbakkerij De Distel in Amsterdam. De cachepot is een voorbeeld van het zgn. carduus aardewerk met afbeelding aan 2 zijden van een adelaar. Bij carduus worden de decorlijnen in de natte  klei gekrast. Deze lijnen worden vervolgens opgevuld met matzwart slib. De verkregen vlakken zijn met gedempte kleuren ingevuld.. Jaar van fabricage van dergelijke stukken is ca. 1915. Er wordt aangenomen dat Willem van Norden dit soort stukken destijds heeft ontworpen. De afmetingen van de cachepot zijn: Hoogte 16 cm, diameter buik 23 cm.

Beautiful earthenware cachepot manufactured at the Plateelbakkerij De Distel in Amsterdam. The cachepot is an example of the so-called carduus pottery with an image of an eagle on 2 sides. With carduus, the decor lines are scratched into the wet clay. These lines are then filled with matte black sludge. The surfaces obtained are filled in with muted colours. The year of manufacture of such pieces is approximately 1915. It is assumed that Willem van Norden designed these types of pieces at the time. The dimensions of the cache pot are: Height 16 cm, diameter belly 23 cm.
